And just where have I been? Wallowing in self-pity. The next pictures are going to make you wonder why. I mean, what could possibly be wrong with living the dream in South America.
All will soon be revealed, but that's not the point of this post. This post is all of the little snaps I took while headed to South America that I didn't share with you all. For shame!
When I left Orlando I flew out on AVIANCA. Not a bad flight and I was headed to Bogota for my first layover. That's exciting! I've never been to Columbia.
I assembled my in flight necessaries...
Boarded this guy to Bogota, Columbia...
And...Oh my Lord, time to replace these. Is it a bad thing when you realize before you've even left the airport on a six month tour that your shoes have a hole in the toe?
Not too bad though, because I put on my travel slippers as soon as I boarded the plane. A steal from H&M in Tampa for like $2.50 I think? Cheap as chips and working quite well to keep my toes nice and warm!
This is so hard to see and my apologies, but the military was working on something outside of the airport in Bogota. I got the feeling I just missed something big going down and I didn't want to be caught photographing so a sneaky photo of their vehicles is the best I could do.
After trying to get a sneaky photo I was starving. Geez hamburgers in South America are expensive. This was just the sandwich and a Coke!
And finally coming into Brazil. I'm pretty sure I snapped this out the window when we were arriving at my second layover destination Brasilia. But I can't swear to that. All those planes started becoming one big one. Also, everyone was speaking Portuguese so I was starting to feel like I was more than a little lost.
